It seems most people aren’t fans of the state/city they grow up in. They want to “get away” and go somewhere cool, fresh, and not what they’ve experienced in their hometown. Me? I LOVE my state! I’ve lived in Maryland all of my 35 years, and I’m still surprised by the cool things here. While it has been the source of debates and sadness, has a ton of areas that need some love, and even a job I HATED, like sucked my soul dry hated; I love Baltimore. We headed into the city to have dinner with our very dear friend, Mara Glazer. She’s been living out of state, so when she’s in town, we try to make it a priority to see her. As we drove into the city, it was just beautiful. There were amazing clouds in almost a 360 area. The sunset light against some grey skies made the city shine. The Raven’s stadium was especially striking. No photos driving in though.
We arrived early, and took the time to walk around and have a mini date. We ended up sitting on a stoop and watching the sunset. Across the way, we saw a sign for Insomnia Cookies. I notice this place every time we come down to the area, but never stop in. Last night, we did. Oh my goodness, we were missing out! We practically inhaled our cookies walking to the water and enjoying the breeze.
I even talked Bret into a selfie! I mean, how could he refuse when it was the extremely rare occurrence of my hair down!
It was a fantastic evening with old friends and new friends and all around great conversation.
Ah Baltimore, you may be imperfect, but I love ya.

I was pretty happy to find that my beer knows what’s up.
Today we continue our celebration with the Hicks Wedding. Byshe and Becky were married on July 11, 2008 at St. Frances de Sales. Their reception was at the American Visionary Art Museum. Today is their Day 1242.
To this day I am SO happy that I got this picture of them in front of a 7 Eleven.
Today we continue our celebration with the Chavez Wedding. Anthony and Patricia were married on March 30, 2008 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Their reception was at The Baltimore Rowing Club. Today is their Day 1341.
Today’s wedding was such a blast and really, like a reunion! See, we have photographed most of the wedding party several times! See, we photographed John and Sarah’s wedding last October. In John’s wedding party were Jimmy and Lyle. In October, we photographed Jimmy and Laura’s wedding. Sarah, John and Lyle were in Jimmy and Laura’s wedding. Today’s wedding was Lyle and Lindsey’s! All of those fine folks listed above were in this wedding! It has been such a blast and honor to get to know this group of people! They are such beautiful people and are becoming dear friends. During Jimmy’s wedding and Lyle’s, Bret got to grab breakfast with the guys. Naturally, I’ve been jealous, so we already have plans to all go out as a group and grab breakfast!
Lindsey and Lyle were married at Hiss United Methodist Church. Their reception was at Boumi Temple. Their caterers were Atlantic Caterers.
Here’s a few really great shots of the bride and groom! I always say I’m going to go take pictures of the changing leaves, but never do….and then I realize, wait! I did! I get some great shots of my couples (and some families) with trees! (Wait until you see the rest of the girls in the woods!)
Like I said above, I have photographed a lot of these guys before! Jimmy had a WONDERFUL idea during the formals…..all the hands of the wedding party!! AND the photographers! It was a really special moment for me when one of the people said they couldn’t wait until the pictures were online so they could order the following picture to put on their wall! When I had the idea to take ring pictures seven months ago, I thought it was a fun idea….but I really didn’t know where it would go…I’ve had a few couples say they take pictures of their rings now. Mmmm, warm and fuzzies all around.
