After I finished up at the gym…totally awesome session by the way! nearly two hours of climbing and then a super sweet sprint workout on the treadmill (did a mile in just over 11 minutes). I was so happy…..anyways….I had to grab a few things….wait, let me start a little earlier…
I was getting ready to leave for the gym and Bret mentioned we needed bread….I said, yea, we need toilet paper too….it’s probably going to snow. I said this without knowing the weather. After leaving the gym and getting hit with snow, I thought, hmmm, maybe I should play the lottery….but decided to just go to the store. I really didn’t feel like going to Wal-Mart…which would have given me the cheapest prices, but just a huge hassle. So, I ended up going to the Dollar Store. Why don’t I shop there more often?? Not a huge selection of anything healthy…even the “whole wheat” bread wasn’t that great. But, I was feeling lazy….no, I was worn out from the gym!
After the dollar store, I went to the liquor store with the thought of getting some cheap wine….to my joyous surprise, there were two full shopping carts of $10 and $5 wine, just inside the door! (not before shared story – I prayed for wine the other day, even the little things dude, it’s blowing my mind these days!)
Anyways…(shesh I’m a rambling fool today!)..here’s what I got! If they turn out to be decent, I’m going to get some more!
I was about to pour my cup of coffee into a boring black coffee mug and saw a fun mug….I have a few fun mugs….it’s really hard for me to NOT buy more! Ah, I love fun stuff. Mugs, pens, toys. I’m actually surprised at how little I’ve spent on things like that over the last 937 days (note the connection). But I’ve realized those things aren’t vital to my “collection of stuff.” Anyways! So, I pulled out this mug….
This came from my job at the University of Maryland. It was left in an office of a former employee and I took it as my own. I can’t remember now if I actually asked him if I could keep it (I think I talked to him after he left….) but! it’s one of my favorite mugs! Love it! It’s not a good “reheat” mug….coffee goes EVERYWHERE….which you know I have experience with…anyways. It got me to thinking….what items have you “taken” from previous jobs? And why?
I was then sitting down to write this blog and I noticed a chocolate wrapper I had opened last night and saved. It’s just so darn sweet. (pun somewhat intended)
I pray that I can laugh that much every day. Recently, my little heart cup has been running over. It’s making a mess all over the apartment, but I don’t mind. 😉
I’ve been working on packets for potential and booked brides for the last week. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a really long time…I’ve been working on a lot of things like this recently! I was up until about 2 last night..this morning working on them and finally finished today. I took the documents up to Staples and left them while I went to the gym. Got in a great workout! Ah, I’m talking best in a few weeks. Anyways, I go back to Staples to find that the copy center is closed for the rest of the day. What made this news worse was that I could see my labels on the counter! And they looked SO GOOD! Ah well. I didn’t have any meetings tonight or tomorrow.
I’ll be out and about early anyway! This crazy person will be waiting in line at REI for their Attic Sale….getting there around 6:00 a.m. 🙂
But for now, here is what I do have for the packet.
There are a few places in my life that are black holes. My closet. The box in my closet that has paperwork to be filed. The cabinet above the fridge that no normal person can reach. And, apparently, Bret’s Truck. Back in December of 2010, we photographed the Bolster Wedding. Their favors were these awesome, hand painted (by John’s grandfather) ornaments. They were kind enough to let us take one. Well, both Bret and I had driven that night, so he put the ornament in his truck. We didn’t carry it in that night because all our gear was enough to carry in. I’ve noticed it sitting in there a few times, smiled and though, oh, I should bring that in. Today, I went out to retrieve a checkbook Bret had left in the truck. I noticed the ornament and finally brought it in….all cold and shivering no less (the ornament, not me)… I’ve set it up on top of two of our dvd shelves….it has become kind of our “memory lane” spot….it fits in nicely.
