About 365 days of marriage

I started this blog in April of 2011. At the time, Bret and I were wedding photographers and it was a way to share how marriage is more about the day to day and so much more than the wedding day itself. For about 5 years, I blogged about the joys and sorrows of the Christian walk, marriage, work, family and friends. I’ve blogged every day since a few weeks after I started. In May of 2015, we photographed our last wedding. Now, I have become passionate about simplicity, particularly in marriage, Christianity, business, travel and life. For a number of reasons, we have become minimalists. I’ve found that having simplicity makes life so much deeper, refreshing and joyful. I hope that this blog will help others see the benefits of living simply.

Day 1251 – The Hobbit!!! And An Awesome Work Of Art By My Sister

Today, ok, technically early in the morning of Day 1252, I saw The Hobbit. I won’t give any kind of review, but I will say I left the theater happy.

I didn’t take a picture at the theater or anything of the like….

So! I wanted to share this AMAZING work of art by my sister, Joanna Mauler. It is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen…and I tell her often that I might steal it. πŸ™‚

Day 1249 – EntreLeadership, A Book I Can’t Wait To Read

A few weeks ago, my brother let me barrow a book, EntreLeadership by Dave Ramsey. I was SO encouraged that I wanted a copy of my own. I didn’t think I had the money in my education budget, but then I had a free gift card from taking a survey and was able to pull it off!

It came in the mail today! I’ve already underlined the parts I’d written down so far!

Basically it’s a book on business about a guy who has hit severe rock bottom and taken it back up to a HUGE business. What I love is his principles about business and interactions.

I can’t wait to finish it and start applying the principles.

Day 1248 – Wedding Album Design = No Baking For Me

Today I spent most of the day creating the Thorsett wedding album! It’s amazing! Can’t wait to get that printed!

Yesterday, I had HIGH hopes of making an apple pie tonight. I even asked my friends for recipes and advice. I was pretty excited about it too!

But then 8 p.m. rolls around, the album is complete…I have no apples….and no energy.

Thankfully, Wegmans is 10 minutes away and have AMAZING pies in stock!
