About 365 days of marriage

I started this blog in April of 2011. At the time, Bret and I were wedding photographers and it was a way to share how marriage is more about the day to day and so much more than the wedding day itself. For about 5 years, I blogged about the joys and sorrows of the Christian walk, marriage, work, family and friends. I’ve blogged every day since a few weeks after I started. In May of 2015, we photographed our last wedding. Now, I have become passionate about simplicity, particularly in marriage, Christianity, business, travel and life. For a number of reasons, we have become minimalists. I’ve found that having simplicity makes life so much deeper, refreshing and joyful. I hope that this blog will help others see the benefits of living simply.

Day 1246 – Wedding Shower For One Of My Brides!

Today I attended a bridal shower for my April 13th bride, Jennifer. It was SO nice! I had my camera (because I was taking my own advice) but the bride said it was alright if I didn’t take pictures. And let me just say, it was SO nice to be a guest! I didn’t really even think about my camera! I forget what it’s like on the other side of the camera some times.

AND I got some sweet gifts!!

Day 1245 – National Cotton Candy Day

So I keep a document of blog ideas…in case there’s a day where nothing interesting happens. Today isn’t really one of those days, it’s been a great day….BUT, when I looked at what today is, I HAD to blog about it! The list is mostly anniversaries of my couples, anniversaries in my business, but it’s also holidays. Super silly holidays. What’s today? Oh you know….

NATIONAL COTTON CANDY DAY!

And what better way to show love than by sharing a Cotton Candy cupcake from Flavor Cupcakery!

Day 1244 – Super Awesome Accomplishment…..600 Days!!!

So! 600 days ago, I had the idea for this blog. I am so happy to say that I have only missed about 15 days. It’s been great to have an idea, work at it and see it succeed. I’m so blessed by all of you who follow my blog regularly. It means a lot! Hopefully it will carry on for many more days!

Let us not forget my first day, up-side down Jennilyn picture. πŸ™‚

Day 1243 – Networking Like A Boss

Today I had the honor of catching up with a group of my favorite Harford County Wedding Vendors!

First I had breakfast with (in no order):
Chris and Bridget from K&B Bridals and Event Planning
Bill from Images of Sommer (formerly Positive Images by Rettberg)
Randie from Faye Daniel Designs
Linda from Fine Florals by Linda
Matt from Buerhaus Design

Then I had the honor of having lunch with Katrina from Call the Shots Photography.

The more I work in this industry, the more I find how important networking is. I’m so thankful for the friendships and working relationships I’ve gained over the years. πŸ™‚

Since I didn’t take any pictures at either, here are a few pictures from a show I did with almost all of the vendors listed above!
