Day 3461 – End Result Of My 2018 Reading Challenges

Woooooo! Hello 2019! Last year was such a great year for my reading and I loved what I read. Here is my last batch of books read. I’ll share my final counts below. If a book has a link and one of these little guys * it is an Amazon Affiliate link. That means I’ll get a small percentage if you order it or something else, at no additional cost to you.

The hardest book I read – Death of a Salesman. I have taken great pains to follow my dreams and craft a life that I want. This was hard to read to because of that. It makes me so sad when folks spend their whole lives working towards something to have so little at the end and be filled with much regret.

My favorite reading challenge – Hands down, The Mommy Mannegren 52 Books in 52 Weeks Challenge. Make sure you check out the 2019 challenge!

Day 3368 – Update Of Reading Challenges – Read A New Book Month Day 30!

I decided to use the last day of this awesome month to share what I’ve read recently and to give an update on my reading goal. I definitely learned a lot about having one focus on this blog for a month…in that I’m a fan (because I knew what to blog about) and not (because I knew what to blog about). My life is too varied and too many different things happen to be limited to one topic and I really enjoy the freedom of this blog to share whatever the heck I want. Day 3313 – A Long Overdue Update On My Reading Challenges

It’s been far too long since I gave y’all an update on what I’ve been reading and if I’ll get close to meeting my huge goal of 300 books read in a year. My current total is 111 books read and I’m feeling pretty good about things. I’ve had to adjust a few things, such as my Goodreads goal is 175. Seeing that I’m XX books behind is a horrible motivator. I’ve learned so much already this year that has impacted my life and caused me to be a better person. The reading challenges definitely encourage me to read outside of what I normally read and that’s a great thing. I have been challenged, encouraged, and motivated. Hopefully, you find your new favorite book on this list.

I’ve linked to some books that I thought were truly amazing, that I read more than once, or I think could help others. Those links are affiliate links, so if you decide to purchase them, I’ll get a small commission, as always, I only share links to things I’ve read and think are worth sharing.

The Mommy Mannegren 52 Books in 52 Weeks Challenge – 22/52

I’ve learned a lot about myself, my businesses, how to view the world, and childlike wonder about things through my readings. You might be thinking, “holy crap, does she do ANYTHING but read?” But here’s the thing. I don’t feel like I read that much. I read out of three books in the morning for about 15-30 minutes as part of my morning routine. I might read a fiction book during the day, if I’m really into it. I’ll listen to audiobooks while I drive. I’ve started to listen to audiobooks in the evenings when I’m playing games on my phone. THIS is a game changer right here. I knocked out book #63 SO fast because of this new habit. Depending on the day and my brain capacity for more information, I’ll spend an hour or two reading at the end of my work day and evening. Since we don’t watch TV and have little to care for in our home, we have more time to focus on things like this. One thing I’m working on this year is ruthlessly saying no to things so I can say “oh heck yea” like Jenna Marbles for the precious few. Reading gives me wings (no Red Bull needed). It shows me worlds and personalities and thoughts I wouldn’t have experienced on my own. It gives inspiration to my blog, my books, my social media posts, and my life. It shows me what is possible. Having reading challenges to do also pushes me to expand my scope even more. I hope that this post gives you even a taste for reading and opens your eyes to what’s possible. And that you really do have time to read.
