Day 1388 – Staycation Day 5 – How Did It Go??

As you know, we’ve been housesitting the last 5 days. Every time I go away, in any sense of the word, I think, ooooo, lots of reading and getting work done! I did have high hopes for this visit.

And how did it go? What did I accomplish? Almost nothing! I kept up with my blog (for the most part) and replied to emails. But that’s it! It was FANTASTIC! I didn’t realize how much I needed a break until I actually took a break! I feel so refreshed! All ready to work a short week and go away again! (Bachelorette party at the beach this weekend! YES!)

I did get two things accomplished….first, I realized I need to make a few modifications to my business…I am in the process of implementing them and I’m super excited about it.

The second thing I accomplished was watching about 1-2 seasons of Lost. 🙂 I’m re-watching and loving it! You pick up on SO many different things the second time around!

Today, I found a super fun cup in our friend’s house. I put wine in it, obviously. I felt like I was on a cruise!! 🙂

Day 1384 – Why I Love House Sitting

For the next few days, we’ll be house sitting for some friends. I LOVE house sitting! Mostly because I get to eat other people’s food! But also because most of the time, it’s a really relaxing time! I normally take more books than I can read…but this time, I think I controlled myself. 🙂 I’m mostly looking forward to kicking back and catching up on said reading. Not sure how much actual work I’ll do….but that’s ok! It’s been SOOO busy, I’m going to enjoy a break!!

Day 1365 – M.A.F.F. (Mid-Atlantic Fireworks Festival) – You HAVE To Go!!

Tonight we went to the Mid-Atlantic Fireworks Festival. My cousin was doing a tribute show for my grandfather, which was the only reason I went. I will admit, I didn’t think it would be all that great. Just a few fireworks.

Boy, was I WRONG!

It consisted of about 6 shows. About 5-10 minutes for each show. They were choreographed to music…and just stunning.

They were fireworks like I remembered as a kid…where they were SO BIG you thought they’d fall on you (which wasn’t too far off as we were RIGHT THERE)….and they lasted forever. There were several times I wasn’t taking pictures and just standing there with that “mouth-hanging-open-starring-into-space-completely-and-totally-in-awe-of-something” kid face. I really miss being a kid.
