About 365 days of marriage

I started this blog in April of 2011. At the time, Bret and I were wedding photographers and it was a way to share how marriage is more about the day to day and so much more than the wedding day itself. For about 5 years, I blogged about the joys and sorrows of the Christian walk, marriage, work, family and friends. I’ve blogged every day since a few weeks after I started. In May of 2015, we photographed our last wedding. Now, I have become passionate about simplicity, particularly in marriage, Christianity, business, travel and life. For a number of reasons, we have become minimalists. I’ve found that having simplicity makes life so much deeper, refreshing and joyful. I hope that this blog will help others see the benefits of living simply.

Day 1000 – 1000 Days or 86,400,000 Seconds of Marriage

Today I celebrate being married to my best friend for 1000 days. In honor of that, I wanted to share a close up of the picture I shared on Day 960.

I love the picture that my sister drew for us and I even more love that she put an actual jewel on there for my engagement ring.

As an added bonus, here’s the picture it’s based on!

Day 997 – Exciting Photo Shoot….But I Can’t Share Yet!

Today I had a photo shoot with some awesome vendors….

Dresses/style design: K&B Bridals and Event Planning
Jewelry: Faye Daniel Designs
Hair and Makeup: Hair Design by Abby
Florist: Fine Florals by Linda
Venue: La Banque De Fleuve

It was such a blast, a lot of work and the pictures are awesome. I truly felt like I had shot a wedding today! I guess I kind of did, at least shooting wise. I took over 2000 pictures and worked pretty much straight for 8 hours.

Now the bad news….I can’t share the pictures yet! I really can’t express how much that stinks! I look through them and I’m so happy. But they will be worth the wait! Hopefully we can get published (that’s why I can’t share them yet)! So, since I can’t share those pictures, I will be sharing pictures from around my apartment….sorry in advance! 🙂

I do love this snow globe that I’m sharing today. It’s great advice.
