About 365 days of marriage

I started this blog in April of 2011. At the time, Bret and I were wedding photographers and it was a way to share how marriage is more about the day to day and so much more than the wedding day itself. For about 5 years, I blogged about the joys and sorrows of the Christian walk, marriage, work, family and friends. I’ve blogged every day since a few weeks after I started. In May of 2015, we photographed our last wedding. Now, I have become passionate about simplicity, particularly in marriage, Christianity, business, travel and life. For a number of reasons, we have become minimalists. I’ve found that having simplicity makes life so much deeper, refreshing and joyful. I hope that this blog will help others see the benefits of living simply.

Day 1661 – What Is A Wedding Studio And Why You Should Care

I’ve been blogging a lot about the new Be More Inspired Wedding Studio and I wanted to tell y’all a bit about why I love it so much! I think it’s going to totally change how Maryland brides plan their weddings!

You start your journey trying on dresses with the amazing stylists at K&B Bridals. They’ll help you find the dress that truly reflects YOU and your wedding.

While trying on your dress, Randie of Faye Daniel Designs can pop downstairs and help you accessorize your gown choice. She has so many of her samples on site to show you examples of what she can do. But if you need more options, you can walk upstairs to her workshop to talk about other options. She showed me drawers upon drawers of beautiful jewels, beads and all kinds of stuff!

But don’t leave yet, you can also find bridesmaids dresses, MOB/MOG dresses, flower girl dresses and tuxes for the guys at K&B Bridals. One of your bridesmaids about to have her prom? No worries, she can check out the prom dresses at K&B too!

What if you came in for a meeting with the onsite florists, Blush Floral Design Studio LLC? Well, hey, you will get to meet the other vendors who are on site while you’re there! Bonus? They make sure there are fresh flowers around the studio!

But wait, there’s more! (Said in my best infomercial voice)

Also on site is a mobile team from Lavish Salon & Spa of Fallston for your hair, make up, spa, essentially all things beauty, needs!

Feeling overwhelmed with all of this? Need a little (or a lot) of help with your wedding? Moore & Co. Event Stylists is on site as well! They have styled and planned many weddings/events and bridal shows that I’ve seen (and photographed) over the years and are always so impressive!

Oh my goodness what a great evening we had last night!!!!! The Be More Inspired Wedding Studio was packed with so many friendly faces!! I’m so proud of all that Bridget has done in the last few years! Honored to have her as a dear friend!! 🙂

Eeeeep! I cannot contain my excitement for the open house tonight! I’m sitting in my chair just shaking! Wait…scratch that….that’s the coffee kicking in. But I am super excited! 🙂

Why am I really this excited about an open house? Well, it’s not just the fact that I’ll jump up and down for the littlest of things (YAY, someone made coffee!!…..YAY! I have K-Cups!!….hmmm, maybe I overdid it with the coffee this morning)….and it’s not only because I love parties and networking….but here are a few of the reasons why I’m excited and why YOU should be excited (and stop by) too!!

This my favorite gown in the studio right now! I mean, hello, I LOVE the sparkles!!! 🙂 There is one in the front window too that has sparkles UNDER a sheer first layer. *swoon* Bret! I want to get married again….or at least get to wear a wedding dress again with you! Mmmmm, I love weddings.

Day 1657 – Spending Time With My Husband

Can I just say that I have LOVED the last two weeks?? I have spent more quality time with my husband in the last two weeks than I have in probably the last year! Whew! It’s been so refreshing knowing he’s done with college. The last few weeks have been filled with interviews and subbing for him…but for the most part, we’ve been able to hang out more! It’s been wonderful to remember why I freakin’ love this guy and growing closer as a couple.

Bonus for me is spending more time together working on the photography business. Today, we hung some of our work at the new Be More Inspired wedding studio! Bret has such a good eye for things that it was great to have him there! And nice to have one of us hold the picture and mark where the nail should go!
