About 365 days of marriage

I started this blog in April of 2011. At the time, Bret and I were wedding photographers and it was a way to share how marriage is more about the day to day and so much more than the wedding day itself. For about 5 years, I blogged about the joys and sorrows of the Christian walk, marriage, work, family and friends. I’ve blogged every day since a few weeks after I started. In May of 2015, we photographed our last wedding. Now, I have become passionate about simplicity, particularly in marriage, Christianity, business, travel and life. For a number of reasons, we have become minimalists. I’ve found that having simplicity makes life so much deeper, refreshing and joyful. I hope that this blog will help others see the benefits of living simply.

Day 1817 – The Best Tuesday Night Date Location In Baltimore Maryland

For a few weeks, Bret has been talking about taking me bowling. My sister goes pretty much every week on Tuesday nights and every week, Bret is reminded that he wants to go!

We typically don’t do much on Tuesday nights because he teaches a boot camp class at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesdays…when he was in school, that was a pretty long day. But, now that he’s on summer break, it’s not as bad to get a little sleep and then come home and take a nap.

So off we went to the Timonium AMF Lanes. On Tuesday nights from 8-10 p.m. you can get an awesome deal! $2 per shoe rental and $2 per person per game! We got a pitcher of beer for $10, so that increased the cost a bit. But we got 3 games in! So for $16 bucks, we played 3 games and got our shoe rental! With the beer, we spent $26….not bad for a 2 hour date with the hubby.

What are your favorite summer date nights in the Baltimore area?

Day 1815 – Kayaking Down The Gunpowder River

Today we did a super long kayaking trip down the Gunpowder River. We put in at Falls Road and floated all the way down to Sparks Road! The whole trip took about 7 hours (including a stop at Monkton Station for lunch). It was so peaceful and a wonderful bonding experience. If you kayak, I highly recommend this route!

Day 1814 – Bengies Drive In Date

Tonight, after Bret got home from work, he asked me out on a date! It was so last minute, but I’m so glad he did! Summer Bret has been awesome! This has been the first summer in the memory of our marriage where we’ve had a REAL summer. Most of the time, he’ll finish school and jump right into working a million hours.

Anyways, we saw Maleficent and the new Transformers. Both movies were really really awesome! We sat in the back of the truck to watch. What a blast! If you are in Maryland, you gotta check out Bengies in Middle River!
