I was going to write some nice post about growing through suffering. But who am I kidding, I got football on the brain! Go Ravens!!!!!

Day 1288 – Fun At A Bridal Shower
Today we attended Jason and Jennifer’s shower!
It was a neat beach theme!

Bret even played one of the games!!!

Day 1287 – We Are Never Serious
Today we took headshots for the lovely girls at K&B Bridals and Event Planning. When we first arrived and did a little location scouting, we were frozen after just a few minutes….ok, no, I was frozen. Bret was fine. 🙂
So, we planned on setting up our backdrop and taking a few shots or just taking some in the shop. We did get some AMAZING shots inside. Talk about GREAT lighting! Woo!
Let me tell you, not only do they help you find the perfect dress for you and make stunningly styled events…..but they do whatever it takes to get the job done, even if it means taking pictures outside in SHORT sleeves, in the cold. I don’t know about you, but I LOVE that quality in a bridal and wedding stylist!
It was around 35 degrees outside, with a little wind tunnel where we ended up shooting….but they did it! Sometimes without their coats! I was so proud!
Since they’re reviewing the pics and I wouldn’t want to put anything up they wouldn’t want shared…you’ll just have to settle for Bret and I being goofy. I don’t know what the deal is with us (ahem, ME) being so silly when we test out the light. Maybe we just dislike being in front of the camera? I dunno, but enjoy!
I mean, this one is so rude!

Really, Jen, what’s the deal with this one?

Bret was actually pretty normal today….which isn’t normal….

Day 1286 – Don’t Cry Bret
I had forgotten about this little gem. I took it when we were taking Bret’s profile pictures for his website. He carries a punching bag (on of the GIANT punching bags) and runs with it as a workout. He’s a beast, it’s ridiculous. But it works! Anyways, he must have dropped it a few too many times, because after the shoot, we noticed the bag was broken.
Bret was sad. 😦

Day 1285 – The Secret To Working With Your Spouse Is…
As you know, my husband is now a business owner. This has been a super exciting time, but also challenging. Being a business owner, you’re CONSTANTLY thinking about your business. You eat, sleep and breathe your business. When it was just the photography business, I only had to contend with school and work in Bret’s thoughts when we had a conversation. Now, there is the personal training. Don’t get me wrong, I am SOOOOO excited for Bret! It helps motivate me to work even harder! That fire when you first start a business is contagious! But, if I have to ask his advice on something, it has to be a very…. ::hold his face and make him look at me:: “Bret! I have to ask you a question!” Sometimes this means waiting until he finishes up what he’s working on. Sometimes it means we have to talk about it later. One of our “don’t talk to me, interrupt me, etc” phrases is….”I’m zoning”…for me this normally means I’m editing awesome picture and listening to Metallica (is it weird that a wedding photographer loves editing pictures with hard rock??)
Anyways, today I was getting a little stressed out about things. So I said, ok, dude, I need you for TWO minutes. I turned up the music and we danced. Hoping, jumping, tossing our arms in the air, dancing. For a good 3-5 minutes. It was AWESOME. I got the stressed energy out and got a mini workout. So! If you work with your spouse….or your family member….or your friend….or even people you don’t really get along with….just dance for a few minutes. It really works. 🙂
