Day 1295 – My Workout Secrets Or Confessions Of A Personal Trainer’s Wife

As you know, my husband is now a personal trainer. It’s been an exciting journey so far, with him starting his business. I love giving him advice and being there for him. As I said the other day, I have a love/hate relationship with his business. He is a personal trainer, which leads someone to think…the wife HAS to look good! So I have been VERY mindful of my actions in terms of what I eat and how often I workout.

I also mentioned in the post above that I would give tips and that’s what I’m going to do now!

First, check out my Pinterest board on this topic. There are some AWESOME workouts there and some I will mention here.

One thing that I think makes a difference is I drink a LOT of water! I have a cup that I got on the last day I was in Vegas for the Wedding MBA in 2011.

Enter water mug stage left:

To the capacity, it fits 4 cups of water. Which is 32 ounces of water. They say you should have 64 ounces of water. I normally fill it to about 2 1/2-3 cups of water. If I set this crazy mug on my desk, I will drink it dry in about 30-60 minutes. Now, this is just me. You might need a different container. Or you might need to add a little lemon or other flavor. But I LOVE my skull mug. I’ll normally refill it a few times a day. Water is HUGE in your lifestyle change. Funny story, when I bought this mug, it was filled with a margarita. 🙂

Ok, important note here…..”lifestyle change.” It’s not a diet. It’s not about working out every day. It’s all in how you view things.

Now, I actually work out almost every day. I’ve been doing a lot of the workouts I’ve pinned in the board above. So the last few days have looked like this….

Monday – 4 minute workout (actually EIGHT! minute workout!)
Tuesday – All-over abs workout
Wednesday – All over body workout
Thursday – Countdown workout
Friday – Treadmill workout – self-made – 1 mile, 11:17 mins. Basically, I would do about 8.0-6.0 then 3.0 on “breaks” every 30-60 seconds.

It’s funny, at first I thought, shesh, I can’t work out every day! But that’s exactly what I’ve been doing!

These little Pinterest workouts have been so awesome! They’re fast, they’re changing up everyday….which I think is key….what works best for you, and going with it.

And here we are, kind of working out together…

Day 1292 – What A Beautiful Evening! Our Church Really Cares For Their Leaders

Tonight, I had the honor of capturing some candid pictures at an event at my church.

At our church, we have something called Care Groups. Basically, they are small groups and are like a bible study. There are leaders for each group. Tonight, the pastors put together a VERY lovely dinner for these sweet couples. It was so beautiful, I felt like I was photographing a wedding reception!

Check out the table setup!

Day 1291 – Would You Pose In Your Wedding Dress In 18 Degree Weather?

Well, I did. It actually FEELS like 4 degrees. I will attest, yes, it does.

Why was I outside in my strapless wedding dress today? My hubby needed to create an ad for K&B Bridals and Event Planning. What better way for him to promote his business to brides than to put on my wedding dress and do some workouts??

I’m hopeful it brings in some business! But either way, I got a sweet pic out of it!

Day 1290 – Hidden In The Bible For A Few Years

I’ve been meaning to blog about this for a while…

A few years ago, we got some cash for Christmas. We placed it in a bible and haven’t spent it since. Over the years, it has become a symbol of God taking care of us financially. We have been through some tough times over those years, but God has always given us exactly what we need, when we need it. Over the years, our freak out moments “holy cow, how are we going to pay the bills” and the time it takes us to get to “God, you are in charge of our lives” has gotten very small. Just the other day, I voiced some concern about our vehicles needing work and worrying about how we’d pay for it….almost in the same breath, we both said, but God will take care of us. Really, the bottom line is that our greatest need (having our sins forgiven) has been taken care of. Anything else we face can’t compare to that.

We’ve kept this cash in the same spot all this time. It wasn’t until today that I read some of the verses on the page. This one in particular stood out…

“Say to those who have an anxious heart, ‘Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God…” Isaiah 35:4a

So, to all who are fearing today. Settle your anxious heart. Behold your God.
