After months of planning and thinking about it – I have seen John Williams, live and in person. I can now say that I have heard the Star Wars theme song played by its composer. That is a really awesome thing to say. I can’t wait to print out the pictures as a reminder that you can set a goal and make it happen.
It was a whirlwind trip, for sure, and I’ll write more about all the specifics later, but for today, let me share about the concert itself.
We arrive a bit later than we planned because we made a number of stops and got caught in really bad traffic. But we still found a decent spot, after moving a few times.
I loved the layout of this venue. The inside was really neat and open, and the grounds were huge. The photo above doesn’t do the distance justice. We were maybe in the front 20% of the lawn.
Oh man, it was a rainy night! We had ponchos and they really helped to keep us dry, but at times it was almost torrential and you can’t really not get wet with only ponchos.
It was hard to get a good night photo, but I love how it looks like he’s a projection on the right screen.
All in all, it was a wonderful evening, and one that I will remember always. If you’re ever up in the Lenox area, try and catch a show at Tanglewood/Koussevitzky Music Shed.
