Three years ago today was my first day as a full-time photographer. It’s been quite a journey since then, but the part that I’m most blessed by are the following 23 couples. Thank you all for choosing us to capture your day! We love you!! 🙂

Day 1495 – Exciting Day And Exciting News
If you’ve been keeping up with my FB posts or blog posts…(And it’s a little scary how many of you do!)…you know it’s been a SUPER crazy busy few weeks.
Between shooting a wedding, attending Wedding Wire World, attending The Next Big Buzz AND going on vacation. I cannot put into words how full my brain has been!
When I got home from vacation, I was all ready to jump in and implement everything I learned. Well, that didn’t happen. It’s been a tough week so far! Between feeling a little under the weather…or under the pollen?…and just feeling completely run down (what is that with vacation by the way?)….I haven’t been as productive as I KNOW I can be.
Today, I was still a little slower getting started and really just dragging my feet….again.
So, this morning in my devos, I prayed “Give me the fire back. Help me to glorify You today.”
My day was still dragging a little bit after that, so I sat down to watch a video from the good folks at Book More Brides. They are running a summit this week to help wedding vendors take their businesses to the next level. I was doing some admin work, time draining work and figured I might as well listen to something productive. I ended up listening to “The Niche Profit Formula: How to Double Your Price and Still Book Solid” by Mike Allebach of Allebach Photography, aka The Original Tattooed Bride Photographer. I’ve followed him on Facebook for a while and am on a few of his email lists. It was an AMAZING presentation and really helped me to connect a few dots that came up at Mara’s event last week.
That was first….after the presentation, through a series of events, he featured me on his page and friended me on Facebook!
AND DURING the presentation, I got an inquiry for next year!
What a way for God to answer my prayer! And so quickly too!
I also want to just say how proud I am of my husband! He is starting his LAST semester in college on Friday! I can’t believe he’s already at this point! In a lot of ways the last 4 years flew by, but they were also tough. I am amazed at how hard Bret has worked. Love ya darlin’

Day 1222 – Networking is AWESOME!
Tonight I traveled 2 hours (with traffic) to a networking event in Virgina. Why would I travel so far? Well, I think networking is super important in any field….something I didn’t realize until the last year. It was also important to me because this was a group of Christian wedding vendors. I think it’s important to surround yourself with people who have the same views about business as you do, for support and understanding.
It was hosted by Teresa Lee of Rex & Regina Events…and boy could you tell it was an event planner’s house!! Check out the spread she had for us!!

My favorite part was the name tags for our glasses! Genius!!

Day 947 – AWESOME New Venue in Havre de Grace Maryland
Today I took the 52 minute drive to Havre de Grace Maryland to see the new La Banque De Fleuve venue with my dear wedding vendor friends Abby (of Hair Design by Abby) and Bridget (of K & B Bridals and Event Planning). As soon as I walked through the door, I had to pick my mouth up from the floor. There are certain places you walk into and there is just this magical moment. I had a similar one when I walked into St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in New York City. I was just overcome by the beauty of this place!
What’s really awesome about this venue is that it used to be a bank and it has been restored to be a venue. There are so many unique qualities about this place!
When you first walk in, you can see the beautiful high ceilings and the amazing lighting fixtures.
And then you realize there’s a skylight!
The next thing that catches your eye is the old bank vault in the center of the main room.
There are a few REALLY neat things about the vault. Kimberly, who gave us the tour, noted that you could do many things in the vault. Gift table, candy bar, etc. She also told us that the sides (inside) are magnetic!! Just imagine hanging some fabric that matches your wedding colors in there! Now, I will note here that this is the only place in the venue you can hang things, etc. This is a historical building! There is also a wine rack in here!
These are the two lovely new friends I met today, Nick and Kimberly! It was such a joy to just sit and chat with them! We stayed for two hours just talking shop and getting to know one another. I look forward to working more with them in the future!
I didn’t get any shots, but this venue is RIGHT on the water! Imagine getting married in a really cool historical building and then getting your formal pictures taken by the water! ahhhh. 🙂
If you are interested in using La Banque De Fleuve for your wedding or other event, check out there website!
After our meeting, Abby and I grabbed a bite to eat at MacGregor’s. It was such a great time of talking about our experiences in the wedding industry and our lives. I am blessed to have met her!
This is what I got to eat!
