Day 3359 – When Sinners Say I Do – A Big Reason Why Bret And I Have An Awesome Marriage – Read A New Book Month Day 21

When Sinners Say I Do: Discovering the Power of the Gospel for Marriage* by Dave Harvey was a book that Bret and I went through before we got married. There were a lot of great things in the book, but the main thing we took away was admitting this “I’m a big fat sinner.”

This one concept has helped us let go of arguments. It has helped us to be much more gracious with the other. Remembering that we are just two completely messed up, imperfect people trying to live life together and that we WILL screw up, makes the times that we do much easier.

If you’re about to get married, you’ve just gotten married, or have been married for decades, this is the book for you.

As a reminder, the links to the book on Amazon are affiliate links. As a reminder, an affiliate link is one that if you click and purchase the book (or something else) I’ll receive a small percentage at no additional cost to you. I ruthlessly only share products, services, books, etc, that I have personally used and only recommend what I think is useful and valuable. I’ve marked all affiliate links in this post with this little guy –> *

Day 3031 – You Never Know What Someone Is Going Through

It can be easy to brush off someone’s good mood or bad mood. It can be easy to get mad at someone cutting you off in traffic.

Today we are attending a wedding (SO much fun to be a guest!) Today will be filled with joy and promise.

Yet, just two days ago, we said goodbye to someone with much joy and promise.

It makes me think that you never know what someone else is going through.

Every day…

Someone is walking through the hardest thing….or the best thing.

Someone has lost a friend….or gained a friend.

Is someone’s first day….or last.

So be gentle with those going through hard times….and joyful with those going through good times.

Day 2754 – Remembering When I WASN’T A Minimalist! Oy!

Our video over on Journey With The G’s today talks about how I was NOT a minimalist back in the day. It was crazy looking back on how I lived before. But it was a good reminder that it’s a journey, not something that happens once or overnight.

Check out the video to hear how we handled our differences.

Here’s a photo of what my room used to look like! You can see one of my THREE trashcans in this photo!
