Day 973 – Roasted Nuts

Today, I made some brussel sprouts in butter with garlic and other spices added. Bret stole a bite and loved it. He’s lucky he got that! I love brussel sprouts. Mmmm. Anyways, he then wanted to try roasting nuts. He added honey, a little bit of garlic, butter, oil and brown sugar. They were very delicious! Then a little later he had the idea of grinding them up. THEN he had the idea to make granola bars. He added oats, more honey, brown sugar, the nut mixture and butter. AMAZING! Ah. He needs to test stuff out more often. I didn’t get a picture of the granola bars because we ate them too fast! But I did get the nuts!

Day 964 – Cupcakes Within 5 Minutes of My Home, Good News or Bad News?

If you have read my blog for any amount of time, you know I am crazy about Flavor Cupcakery. Bret is crazy about them too. They are a luxury item for us, which we don’t mind indulging in. It’s been easy to ignore the posts on my newsfeed EVERYDAY showing the flavors of the day. Tasty pictures. Ah. I’m drooling thinking about it.

Anyways. As I was flipping through my newsfeed, I got some news….I still haven’t decided if it’s good or bad.

Flavor Cupcakery is opening a new location around the third week of April. Where? Oh you know, 10253 York Road, Cockeysville, Maryland. Just minutes of my home. It’s almost close enough to walk to.

So, while I decide if it’s good or bad news, here’s one of my favorite pictures of their beautiful, amazingly, wonderfully, awesome cupcakes.

Day 938 – Clearance Wine

After I finished up at the gym…totally awesome session by the way! nearly two hours of climbing and then a super sweet sprint workout on the treadmill (did a mile in just over 11 minutes). I was so happy…..anyways….I had to grab a few things….wait, let me start a little earlier…

I was getting ready to leave for the gym and Bret mentioned we needed bread….I said, yea, we need toilet paper too….it’s probably going to snow. I said this without knowing the weather. After leaving the gym and getting hit with snow, I thought, hmmm, maybe I should play the lottery….but decided to just go to the store. I really didn’t feel like going to Wal-Mart…which would have given me the cheapest prices, but just a huge hassle. So, I ended up going to the Dollar Store. Why don’t I shop there more often?? Not a huge selection of anything healthy…even the “whole wheat” bread wasn’t that great. But, I was feeling lazy….no, I was worn out from the gym!

After the dollar store, I went to the liquor store with the thought of getting some cheap wine….to my joyous surprise, there were two full shopping carts of $10 and $5 wine, just inside the door! (not before shared story – I prayed for wine the other day, even the little things dude, it’s blowing my mind these days!)

Anyways…(shesh I’m a rambling fool today!)..here’s what I got! If they turn out to be decent, I’m going to get some more!
