Today we photographed Walter and Penny’s Wedding. I haven’t danced that much in a while at a wedding! (don’t worry, I can still take pictures and dance!)
They were married at Havre de Grace United Methodist Church. Their reception was at Rosedale Gardens. Penny’s dress was provided by K&B Bridals and Event Planning.
On our way to California, we made a stop at the Grand Canyon. I was moved to tears at how amazing it was.
At the Bolster rehearsal dinner, which happened on 12/16/2010, the maid of honor asked me what were the funniest things that had happened to me as a wedding photographer. I laughed, knowing I had a number of stories, yet, I couldn’t think of a single thing! Most of the time the things I see and experience are deeply emotional and moving..but not as often funny. I continued to think about this that evening and during the wedding itself the next day, I got a few answers!
First, while taking the formal pictures, I was backing up to get a better shot, and Bret (my husband and second photographer) elbowed me…in the head….hard enough to make a sound…right next to the maid of honor…who wasn’t watching and missed it! I was joking with her about missing it and she said, well, I did hear it!
Shortly after, Bret noticed something on the bride’s hair…a stinkbug!…so he walked forward, went and grabbed for it and got it off her head. She asked what it was and we kind of looked at each like, oh, um, it was a flower petal! all in an effort to keep the bride calm! Bret then casually walked outside to get rid of the “evidence”.
I still can’t come up with many funny stories…but oh my can I remember the sweet and moving ones! But that is a blog for another day!
Today we photographed John and Lindsay’s Wedding. We had such a blast with them! Their ceremony was at St. Luke’s (Winters) Lutheran Church in New Windsor. Their reception was at the New Windsor Fire Hall. Their dinner was made by Lindsay’s brother who works at Woodberry Kitchen.
On 12/9/10 I went to New York City for the first time, ever. This fact seems to surprise a lot of people, especially my extended family in California. It’s surprising because I’ve lived in Maryland my entire life and NYC is only 3 1/2 hours away.
I finally got the chance to go with my friend, who suggested we decided to see Elf on Broadway. At first, I thought it was a silly (and expensive) idea…turns out it was a fantastically wonderful idea! I felt like I was a little kid!
As a photographer, one would expect that I would take multiple cameras and flash cards, yet, I didn’t take anything! I figured, hey, it’s my first time, I really should just drink it all in. And drink it in I did!
We started at Serendipity 3, which is the restaurant where the movie Serendipity was filmed. It was such a fun place! I was tempted to get dessert, but decided not to because by the end of the meal we were so full!
We then walked around and found a great little…ok, not so little….candy shop, that had three stories of candy! I think my favorite part was the stairs filled with candy in them.
