Day 728 – Using Stuffed Animals As Protection

I was trying to tickle Bret this morning and he used one of the stuffed animals as protection….

He didn’t like me taking pictures of it…

Then we went to Service Photo and Penn Camera. Talk about kids in candy stores! We bought a few reflectors and diffusers. One of the reflectors is a five in one with a huge stand! I can’t wait to play with it!!! We plan on visiting the family tomorrow, so my siblings will be models while we play! (They don’t know this yet!) But we did get a little bit of playing in the car…

Gotta get the rings in there somehow!

Day 722 – Spinning Rings

Tonight we hung out with some friends, including Chris and Bridget.

I snagged this pic with the melon liquor. I love how green it is! : )

I don’t know how it started, but Chris started spinning his wedding ring…

Then Bret spun mine…

I love how it looks like Chris’s ring is chasing mine!

Then it was a ring madhouse!

Finishing off with a nice picture of Chris and Bridget’s rings.

Bret LOVES this shot…we’ll see if we can talk our future couples into spinning their wedding rings…this might be a good “hang out a few weeks after the wedding” picture. : )

Day 720 – A Big Announcement

No picture today, just an announcement!

Today I put in my notice at my day job! I will be a full time wedding and portrait photographer in just two short months! I cannot wait to do this full time! I don’t think it could have happened so soon if it wasn’t for the love and support of my dear husband Bret. He is an amazing business partner, photographer and friend. Ah. : )

What is also very significant about this day is Bret proposed 3 years ago today! When I realized this yesterday, it made me cry. I just felt so overwhelmed with the love of Christ…that He would give me a gift like that…the coolness of the quit date. (If you couldn’t tell by the blog, I’m into dates and days). When I was telling Bret about this fact, I said, “So three years ago, I made a major life decision, tomorrow I make another one.” (this is where I started to cry again!)

Later, I read this passage from Streams in the Desert. It pretty much sealed the deal.

My words…will come true at their proper time. Luke 1:20
What the Lord has said…will be accomplished! Luke 1:45

The Lord is sure to accomplish those things
A loving heart has waited long to see;
Those words will be fulfilled to which she clings,
Because her God has promised faithfully;
And, knowing Him, she ne’er can doubt His Word;
He speaks and it is done. The mighty Lord!
The Lord is sure to accomplish those things,
O burdened heart, rest ever in His care;
In quietness beneath his shadowing wings
Await the answer to your longing prayer.
When you have “cast your cars,” the heart then sings,
The Lord is sure to accomplish those things.
The Lord is sure to accomplish those things,
O tired heart, believe and wait and pray;
Peacefully, the evening chime still rings,
Though cloud and rain and storm have filled the day.
Faith pierces through the mist of doubt that bars
The coming night sometimes, and finds the stars.
The Lord is sure to accomplish those things,
O trusting heart, the Lord to you has told;
Let Faith and Hope arise, and lift their wings,
To soar toward the sunrise clouds of gold;
The doorways of the rosy dawn swing wide,
Revealing joys the darkness of night did hide.

Day 719 – Celebrating a New Chapter

Tonight I went out to Padonia Station to celebrate some really great news! I will announce it tomorrow!

This was a great draft beer! Woody Creek Belgian White by Flying Dog Brewery.

I also have a thing for mashed potatoes!

And cream of crab soup…

I even got a picture of Megan’s shoulder. Amanda was there too, but I didn’t get her shoulder…I’m not sure why…

Day 710 – Traveling Home From Vacation and Editing Like Crazy

Today I arrived home from Lake Placid. We made great time…enough for me to go through emails, checking accounts and edit pictures from the last few weeks! I updated quite a few days! You probably noticed a few repeat pictures….and some that look almost exactly the same….well….I took them tonight….just pulled up the portrait session/wedding and took a timed picture of me editing them (because Bret isn’t here with me now)….so it’s a little bit of cheating…BUT!…it’s what I really looked like those days! Maybe just a different shirt. : )

But for your viewing pleasure….here is my set up…
