Day 1248 – Wedding Album Design = No Baking For Me

Today I spent most of the day creating the Thorsett wedding album! It’s amazing! Can’t wait to get that printed!

Yesterday, I had HIGH hopes of making an apple pie tonight. I even asked my friends for recipes and advice. I was pretty excited about it too!

But then 8 p.m. rolls around, the album is complete…I have no apples….and no energy.

Thankfully, Wegmans is 10 minutes away and have AMAZING pies in stock!

Day 1246 – Wedding Shower For One Of My Brides!

Today I attended a bridal shower for my April 13th bride, Jennifer. It was SO nice! I had my camera (because I was taking my own advice) but the bride said it was alright if I didn’t take pictures. And let me just say, it was SO nice to be a guest! I didn’t really even think about my camera! I forget what it’s like on the other side of the camera some times.

AND I got some sweet gifts!!

Day 1244 – Super Awesome Accomplishment…..600 Days!!!

So! 600 days ago, I had the idea for this blog. I am so happy to say that I have only missed about 15 days. It’s been great to have an idea, work at it and see it succeed. I’m so blessed by all of you who follow my blog regularly. It means a lot! Hopefully it will carry on for many more days!

Let us not forget my first day, up-side down Jennilyn picture. 🙂

Day 1238 – The Story Behind My Wedding Dress

When I first got engaged, I thought I was going to wear my mom’s wedding dress. I had tried it on so many times as a teen/young adult. Even though it was worn in 1977, it was still something I really liked. One of my mom’s friends encouraged her to make sure this was truly “My Dress.” I thought about it and it really wasn’t. It was my mom’s dress. Though, I did like how my dad smiled when he saw me in it.

So I wanted to go look at dresses as soon as possible! It was a last minute search and only my friend Marcy (who wasn’t even a bridesmaid at the time….though, I did ask her very shortly after this experience!) was available to go. We drove up to the David’s Bridal in York and started our search. Since I was getting married in the backyard, I thought the more “destination/beach” wedding dress was the direction I wanted to go.

I tried on a few…

It was fun, I liked the dresses. But there wasn’t that “moment.” Stacey, who was helping me find my dress, at this point said….ok, I found a dress for you…it’s totally different from the others you’ve tried on so far, but I think you’ll like it…

I started to cry in the dressing room as she was lacing it up….

It was perfect with the veil and tiara.

My dad had fun with the veil later.

And the dress still made him smile.

Day 1237 – What Could Have Been or My Mom’s Wedding Dress

The past week or so, I’ve been going through all of my hard drives, doing a little spring cleaning. It’s pretty overwhelming, honestly. I have taken SO many pictures. There are pictures from YEARS ago that only I have seen…and even then, I’ve barely looked at them.

While going through, I found some pictures I took of myself in my mom’s wedding dress.

Looking back, I do still really like it. But I’m glad it turned out like it did….but more on that tomorrow.

For today, let me share my mom’s dress!!!
