About 365 days of marriage

I started this blog in April of 2011. At the time, Bret and I were wedding photographers and it was a way to share how marriage is more about the day to day and so much more than the wedding day itself. For about 5 years, I blogged about the joys and sorrows of the Christian walk, marriage, work, family and friends. I’ve blogged every day since a few weeks after I started. In May of 2015, we photographed our last wedding. Now, I have become passionate about simplicity, particularly in marriage, Christianity, business, travel and life. For a number of reasons, we have become minimalists. I’ve found that having simplicity makes life so much deeper, refreshing and joyful. I hope that this blog will help others see the benefits of living simply.

Day 2134 – The Ultimate Map For Exploring The United States

A few weeks back, we were at a friend’s house and they had THE coolest map ever. A scratch off map of the United States! We ordered one as soon as we got home. Yesterday, it arrived in the mail and it was all I could do to wait until Bret got home to scratch it off! We decided to only scratch off places we’ve been together and have actually spent some time.

Here’s the map without scratches.

Day 2133 – Starting From Scratch

Yesterday, I told you about my new web presence. Thank you to those who have followed already!

Today, I spent some time looking into increasing followers on all three sites (new website/blog, Twitter and Facebook) and I found myself very discouraged. My photography business has a great following on Twitter and Facebook and this blog is huge! It is so intimidating to have to start from scratch.

But then I took a minute to let things sink in. Yes, I have quite a way to go until I match and exceed my current stats, but holy cow, look at what I’ve done with my photography business and blog! It was humbling to think about how many people have had an part in getting me to where I am today. So, to y’all, thank you so very, very much. I can’t wait to see where we go next!!

Day 2132 – Help Me Followers, You’re My Only Hope!

Well, I finally did it. I created JennilynGaitan.com. Along with that, I have a new Twitter and Facebook page.

Why do I need another page? I mean, after all, I have this blog and my photography business website. Given my organized side, I want to keep things in compartments. The new website is for my book and other types of writing I hope to do!

So, help me out! Follow my new page, my new Twitter and Facebook page! You’ll be the first to know when I’m published on other blogs and when I finally release my first book!
