About 365 days of marriage

I started this blog in April of 2011. At the time, Bret and I were wedding photographers and it was a way to share how marriage is more about the day to day and so much more than the wedding day itself. For about 5 years, I blogged about the joys and sorrows of the Christian walk, marriage, work, family and friends. I’ve blogged every day since a few weeks after I started. In May of 2015, we photographed our last wedding. Now, I have become passionate about simplicity, particularly in marriage, Christianity, business, travel and life. For a number of reasons, we have become minimalists. I’ve found that having simplicity makes life so much deeper, refreshing and joyful. I hope that this blog will help others see the benefits of living simply.

Day 2304 – I’m So Fancy, I Drink My Energy Drinks Out Of A Glass

After the wedding last night, we went to the after party at a really nice bar. The Towson Tavern is attached to and part of the Rec Room…what’s amazing is they have two very different vibes. I was impressed with the marketing in that! It had been a long day, so I knew I needed a little energy to keep going. I ordered a Monster and they served it in a glass! With a straw! I felt so fancy!

Day 2302 – Walking A Day In My Husband’s Clothes

So we had a funny little idea about me dressing up like Bret does for work. His co-workers and the students give him a hard time about wearing the same thing every day, so we thought it was a perfect idea. I added in the nylon for his bald head and Bret drew on my beard. The kids kept taking double takes, it was SO funny.

Here’s a few things I learned:
– Bret’s pants and shirts are huge on me.
– I was able to go to the library in the morning and since I was “Bret” this morning and “Jennilyn” now, I don’t think I got too many “oh….that girl has been in the library ALL day” looks.
– It felt good to “shave.”
– Kids are funny.
– I love jeans and fun t-shirts WAY too much to have a formal job again. Back in my “Size Matters Not” Yoda shirt. Ahhhhhhh.

Any good couple costumes ideas for next year?
