Day 2310 – Why You Should Read A Poem To Yourself First….Especially When You Think It’s About Your Husband

This morning, I thought it would be fun to relisten to some messages we listened to for our pre-marital counseling. I was digging around for the paperwork that went with it, so we could compare the notes we made 7 years ago. I found in the process a folder of my old poems. I found one and I’m like, oooo, this is from our first year together! So I started reading it out loud to Bret.

I got about 1/3 of the way through when I’m like, wait…..Bret didn’t do that….wait….that’s not right….I stopped mid read and did the oooops face and he’s like, is that about “one of my exes”?? I nodded and then we both just laughed and laughed. So! Make sure you read through things first!

But I did find a poem that is still true about a dear love of mine…..

Jars of Peanut Butter
Oh, the sweet taste of peanut butter
It’s so sweet, it makes my heart flutter
I like it with honey
And eating it when it’s sunny
It’s even good with some crackers
It makes me lick my smackers
In the sight of it, some shudder
But I’ll always love my
Jars of Peanut Butter
