Day 3107 – What Is My Wish For Today?

My wish for today is a quick recovery, from being sick….again. (Insert my best Forrest Gump impression) “And I got sick….again….and I didn’t get much done…again.”

While…again….this is really annoying, it is a reminder to be thankful for my current life situation. For work that is flexible. For employers who care about my health. And for systems I’ve set up so things get done, even when I’m not in tip top shape.

Getting sick has never been less stressful.

Day 3081 – How I Feel Today

I finally felt like I turned a corner yesterday in my nasty cold. While it really stinks being sick for so long, talking to Bret this morning reminded me that being sick a lot is not my normal situation. When I was eating lots of junk food and drinking lots of alcohol, I was sick a lot more often. Now, I might get sick 2-3 times a year. So instead of focusing on the annoying fact that I’ve been sick 28 days out of the last 52 days, I’m going to remember that I’ve been healthy most of the year.

Day 3034 – Oh So Tired

I really hate being sick. But I also try to embrace it when I am. I try to see it as a reminder that I’m not sick often. I try to see it as, I am strong most of the time. I am thankful for that. Since I quit drinking, I’ve gotten sick SO much less frequently. But it still stinks.

As I’ve been reviewing my blog posts (only about 1300 to go!), I’ve noticed how often I used this photo…

And I’m glad I took some new ones…

Ha ha, so this is pretty much my life this week. Oy.

Day 2877 – How I Hoped To Spend The Weekend Vs. How I Will Probably Spend The Weekend

Since Bret and I are each building businesses right now (Bret real estate investing, me a business around my road trip book), we’re constantly working. Weekends aren’t days off but days to work longer hours. We did squeeze in a mini picnic last night on our living room floor with CFA nuggets, but beyond that, it’s work work work. But we were thrown a wrench when Bret got sick….and I may be coming down with something as well. So here’s how I thought I’d be spending the weekend….
