Day 2652 – Camping This Weekend In PA!!
We’re off to Gettysburg for the weekend to camp with friends (and former clients)!
Day 1926 – Camping At Granite Hill Campground With Clients Who Became Friends
We just returned from camping with several of our previous clients, who are now friends. I LOVE how much this group has taken us in! We’ve been invited to their “family” (you all know the adopted friends who are really family) camping trip and some of their holiday celebrations. We always talk about wanting to become friends with our clients and I LOVE when it gets to this level! I can’t wait until next year!
So, what does this camping weekend look like?
First, it starts with a beautiful sunset at check-in.
Followed by enough wood for about a day….seriously, we had to get another load the second day!
Fall leaves falling…
Selfies around the campfire…
Playing with our friends’ dogs…
Growing longer tongues…
Pumpkin carving contest…
The Saturday Night Stew Tradition…..every person brings a can of something (non-dairy based and people food)….and we toss it all in a pot….finished off with some Ramen noodles. The past two years we’ve had it, it tastes amazing! We’ve been told it’s always good!!!
You gotta try it!!!
What a beautiful end to the weekend!!!!
Day 1561 – Camping With Clients At The Best Campground Ever
What a great overnight trip with our friends and previous clients! I had NO idea what I was in for when we were invited!! We stayed at Granite Hill Camping Resort in Gettysburg, PA.
This morning was filled with bacon. Obviously.
Bret got a nice nap.
Now, here’s where it got REALLY cool. This campground has a costume contest/parade, trick or treating and a haunted house!
The Fredericks were one of the winners of the costume contest! Isn’t it great???
One thing they do is a big ol’ pot of goodness. Everyone brings a can of food and tosses it in a pot. Some of the fun things included in this pot….Ramen noodles, cup-o-noodles, Chunky soups, cans of various veggies and a can of crushed pineapple.
I know it sounds crazy, but it was DELICIOUS!
Bret still has a ton of work to do for school, so even though it rained, it still got it done. 🙂
My sweatshirt still smells like smoke and that makes me happy.
