Day 1498 – Review Of Unveiled Faces by Jennilyn From The Bride’s Sister – Glyndon, Maryland Wedding Photographer

When I was at the O’s game with Mara Glazer, I ran into a dear friend/previous co-worker/previous bride’s sister, Gwen! I was telling her about the event and some of my realizations. She told me during the conversation that when she has a bad day, she looks at her sister’s pictures…from TWO years ago! I was so humbled and blessed….not going to lie, I tried to hide my tears, right there in the stadium! I asked her to write me a review and this is what she said!

“Jennilyn and Bret shot my sister’s wedding in September of 2011. I guess you could consider me my sister’s wedding planner. The day was extremely hectic for me, but Jen and Bret got there early and started taking pictures right away. They help put me at ease, even when I was running around crazy!

The pictures turned out phenomenal! They are everything we had hoped for, and way surpassed my expectations. Bret and Jen managed to really capture the true essence of the wedding, and capture the spirit of everyone. The pictures of my sister and her husband were so awesome-they were featured in an online wedding blog/website! When I am having a bad day, I look through pictures of their wedding. Still to this day they bring me to tears, and take me back to that incredible day. Almost 2 years later, I still have family members and friends comment about how awesome the pictures are. That, to me, says a lot. They will be the first people I go to for my wedding- without a doubt.

Jennilyn and Bret are very caring, energetic and approachable people. They are so easy to talk to and really strive on fulfilling your needs and wishes. They are extremely professional but at the same time charming to your guests and are willing to listen to their requests as well. You can tell that Jennilyn and Bret LOVE what they do and they were born to do this.

If you are thinking about hiring Jennilyn and Bret for your wedding, don’t hesitate. I promise you, it will be one of the best decisions you will make for your special day.

I love you guys, and thank you for taking such pride in what you do!! xoxo”

Day 1491 – How Running A Business Is Like A Puzzle

Yesterday, we found some puzzles and games in a closet of the cabin. The puzzle we chose was actually a Springbok puzzle! My favorite brand of puzzle!

Anyways, we dumped it out on the table and I fully expected it would be a quick puzzle.

But then, we realized this was not going to be an easy puzzle. It hit me at that point how putting a puzzle together is a lot like running a business OR a dealing with a problem in general.

1. When you get overwhelmed, put everything on the table. (I spread out all of the pieces, face up)
2. Start by going for something small. (I did all of the blue sky first)
3. Take breaks when you get a little stressed. (I gave up like 5 times)
4. Get some help from friends and family. (So we took turns)

5. Don’t give up. (You can’t play a game until the table is cleared)
6. If you work hard, get a little help from your friends, you can accomplish big things…even if it’s a 700 piece puzzle.

Day 1481 – I Wasn’t Lying When I Said This…

On my website, I say this… “Since we believe in cultivating a friendship with our couples, we really get to know them and keep in touch long after the wedding.”

Some couples we’re able to keep in contact with pretty regularly, some it’s not so often.

For Melinda Honhke, it was far too long. Five years in fact!

Tonight, I had the great joy of finally seeing my sweet bride. And you know, the best part was it felt like no time had passed at all. I’m so thankful for that connection with my clients!!

p.s. We set a date on the calendar while I was there! I shot the Hohnke wedding with my brother, not Bret, so they haven’t met him yet! I can’t wait til they do! 🙂

Day 1473 – Loch Raven Reservoir Maryland Maternity Portraits – Or Another Royal Baby!

Last Tuesday, I had the joy of photographing Mr. & Mrs. Murphy’s maternity session!

Stephanie was our winner from the March Madness Contest and she decided to use it for a maternity session!

This was our first portrait session with the new off camera flash system…HOLY SMOKES!…it makes a HUGE difference! I’m so so so happy with the pictures!

So, why did I tag this #royalbaby? Well, this dear, lovely mom gave birth to her own beautiful prince yesterday!!! I’ll never forget his birthday!!
