Day 3410 – Veterans Day – aka – Hug A Veteran Day – aka – One Of My Favorite Days Of The Year

A very happy Veterans Day to all the amazing Vets who read this! I love Veterans Day for a number of reasons. It gives me a chance to give a shout out to Bret for his service to our country. It’s also a day to give a shout out to all the Vets for their service.

And let’s be totally honest here, I love all the free food Bret can get! We typically go to several places for some freebies. But almost always end up getting super stuffed by the time we reach Olive Garden.

This year I noticed one restaurant was actually giving free food to spouses and parents too. Way to go McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants, I mean, really! I don’t think we’ll make it out to you guys today, but it really means a lot that a place would be willing to give something to the spouses and parents too.

So, hug a Vet today. Thank them for their service. And if you’re lucky, tag along with one for not only some free food but a lot of businesses and people that will thank them too.

Day 3046 – Veteran’s Day Freebies

I think Veteran’s Day is one of my favorite days of the year. It is also one of the days I eat the most food. I’m really thankful for so many generous restaurants that give great freebies to the Vets. Shout out to Krispy Kreme for giving us a little extra too. Vet friends in Maryland, next year, check out Crofton, MD for the closest proximity of Veteran’s Day restaurant deals. I seriously saw about 5-10 of the restaurants we looked into within .25 miles. Ha ha, there’s even a movie theater in one of the shopping centers, so you can catch a movie while your food settles.

So how did our day go? Well, we started our journey at Little Caesar’s. It had been quite a while since either of us had their pizza and boy howdy, it had been too long. Bret got a free personal pizza and drink combo for free. I got the same thing. While we could just got to all the places and get free food for Bret, we like to support each place and we purchase something for me too.

The pizza was just delicious. We were going to Olive Garden next, so we only had one piece each.

Oh my goodness, we love Olive Garden! We’ve only gone a few times, but every time is a really great time and super delicious food. Bret got a free entree which included unlimited soup and breadsticks. I got a neverending pasta bowl, and soup and breadsticks. We only got one refill of breadsticks. Seriously, I wonder how many people can actually get and eat a refill.

We left very full, and planned on picking up a gift from a friend, but thought Krispy Kreme was better first. We actually got a little extra from Krispy Kreme, so thank you!

All in all, a really wonderful day. The weather was great, and since we love Fall, it was wonderful drinking in the beauty.

How did you spend Veteran’s Day?
