Day 2704 – There Is a Restaurant Called Mr. & Mrs. G’s Home Cooking And We Didn’t Visit It!

During our 2013/2014 California drive, we came home the super southern route through Texas. We stopped in San Antonio to see some of our clients. We got to explore San Antonio and it became one of our favorite cities we’ve visited in the country.

I was doing a search last night for website availability using our names (stay tuned for news about that…maybe a few days, maybe a few months) and I found a restaurant called Mr. & Mrs. G’s Home Cooking. You know we’ve tried Mr. G’s here. I can’t believe there is a place called Mr. & Mrs. G’s and we JUST missed it! Guess we’ll have to take a trip back down to Texas!

Day 2687 – Remembering Our First Road Trip

As I’ve been reading through my Facebook On This Day posts the last week or so, a number of posts keep popping up about our first cross country trip. Six years ago, Bret was in college and the job where I was working, was closed Christmas through New Years. Bret’s family lives in California and we wanted to visit, unfortunately, airline tickets to California at Christmas are extremely expensive (shout out to the Southwest credit card helping us fly for free these days!) What are a newly married, poor couple to do? Well, we decided to drive! We had the time and it was so much cheaper! We spent about $500 on gas, only stayed in a few hotels and stayed with family. It was the start of one of our deep loves – travel, specifically cross country travel. Especially after our drive last summer, I realize just how much I love driving across this amazing country!

Day 2684 – My Next Book Is About Cross Country Travel And I Need Your Help!

I’m very happy to report that I have finally made some major progress on my book! It has become more of a devotional than anything else. My manuscript with with an editor/reviewer as we speak! The next step is finding a cover designer (any recommendations, pass them my way!) and then all the copyrighting/ISBN etc business and you’ll be able to buy my book on Amazon! It’s so weird to be this close! Eeeep!

If you haven’t picked up yet, I’m big into dreaming and doing the next thing even while working on another. So! I already have my next book in the queue! I will be writing on cross country road trips! I’ve obviously got a ton of material to work with and a bunch of experience. Bonus – I LOVE to talk about it! Every few weeks, I’ll get a message from someone asking for tips. I end up putting in a good 30-45 minutes giving them advice….and it never feels that long. I’m really pumped to write this book!

Here’s how you can help me! Tell me your questions about planning a cross country trip. I want all your questions. Crazy questions, serious questions, questions you don’t know if you should ask or not.

Hopefully, it will inspire more people to go to places like this…
