Day 2839 – Poetry And The Creative Mind Day

Today is Poetry And The Creative Mind Day! In honor of that, here is a poem I wrote shortly after meeting Bret.

I fear dreaming
funny for me
yet you stay
with open arms
and at the
end of the day
my mind
goes not
to how
great we are
but how
amazingly great
and good
our Father is
in every joke
he laughs with us
every tear
caught in his hands
it feels different
it feels new
yet old as time
you keep me
on the glorious page
God has us on
I burst at the seams
to know our future
to have the guarantee
repeat it again
and again
that it’s
all under control
you know I’ll forget
it just gets
better and better
the more real
we are

Day 2838 – Why We Moved

We moved for a few reasons. To save money, to give me more access to the car, but especially because of the close proximity to Bret’s job. For fun, we set a timer to see how long the drive actually was when I dropped Bret off this morning.

Because of how we parked, we had to take a longer way. There were a number of buses, but thankfully we missed the school bus pickup in the neighborhood. I could have gotten back sooner if I didn’t catch the light at the school. Silly me, thinking I could. It’s a no turn on red light, so I had to sit through a whole rotation.

Total drive – door to door to door – 11:44
Total drive there – 7:33
Total drive home – 4:10

It could have taken only 3 minutes to drive home! Ah! Never fear readers, we will work on shaving this time down!

Day 2834 – Lunch With A Long Time Friend!

A good friend of mine lives only about 5-10 minutes away (from our current and our old apartment), would you believe today was the FIRST time we got to hang out in the 2+ years I’ve lived close by? It was such a great time of catching up and eating delicious food. Now I want to take a nap!

Day 2833 – A Great Meal After A Long Day

Yesterday I worked a long day with one of my clients. We had a super productive time and rewarded ourselves with a HUGE meal. I am so thankful to work for amazing people. It was such a great time of chatting and enjoying each others’ company.

I tried to use my hand as a comparison for how big this chicken was. Wow!
