About 365 days of marriage

I started this blog in April of 2011. At the time, Bret and I were wedding photographers and it was a way to share how marriage is more about the day to day and so much more than the wedding day itself. For about 5 years, I blogged about the joys and sorrows of the Christian walk, marriage, work, family and friends. I’ve blogged every day since a few weeks after I started. In May of 2015, we photographed our last wedding. Now, I have become passionate about simplicity, particularly in marriage, Christianity, business, travel and life. For a number of reasons, we have become minimalists. I’ve found that having simplicity makes life so much deeper, refreshing and joyful. I hope that this blog will help others see the benefits of living simply.

Day 2831 – The Highest Compliment You Can Give A Minimalist

We had our final walkthrough at our old apartment yesterday. Almost as soon as the guy came in, he said it looked like no one had lived there. We were SO encouraged by this! Our move was such a quick and easy process because of how we live. It was easy to clean the old apartment. It was easy to pack and move. It only took us 5 car loads for everything. Everything fits in the Honda Civic.

Here’s the last photo at our old place. I miss my work wall. 😦 I can’t wait to get my current one set up!

Day 2830 – First Sunset At The New Place

We’re all moved in! We still have a few boxes to go through, but we’re just about done. It feels good to say that!

After we unpacked a few things, we had some coffee in the backyard, and watched the sunset. We’ll miss our balcony, for sure, but this is a great spot!

Day 2828 – That Moment When You Realize You Might Not Be As Minimal As You Thought

I spent most of yesterday packing up our apartment. As the pile of stuff grew, my heart sunk deeper and deeper. It appears, we might not be as minimal as we thought…

Day 2827 – Last Minute Date With Husband Pants

A few weeks ago, our dear friends made us pancakes with Nutella for breakfast. Woo doggy, they were good! Since then, Bret talks about getting pancakes almost every day. He’s half joking, half serious. Last night, he was full serious. We had a great time chatting, and having way too much sugar for a Thursday night, but oh well! πŸ˜€

Dudes, there were cinnamon chips IN my pancakes. Nom nom nom.
