All of my voting life, I’ve considered myself a Republican. I’m registered as one, and up until recently, voted Republican across the board, just because of their party affiliation. Yesterday, my ballot choices included candidates from every party, Republican, Democrat, and Libertarian.
I can see how my life experiences and the people I’ve met have shaped my change in voting habits. Now, instead of just blindly voting because someone is in my party, I look at what they say and plan to do, and vote accordingly. I love that this is possible in this country.
One thing that was really cool to see yesterday, was a girl scout troop that set up, in the pouring rain, to sell girl scout cookies. I couldn’t help but buy a box. They are going to be successful in life, I’m sure.
