Day 3377 – Just Turn On The Light – or – Why Do We Complicate Things?

This morning, as I was getting ready for my run, I tried to find some running pants – in the dark. I dug around a little, thinking “I’ll know them when I feel them.” This only lasted about 20 seconds before I thought, “wait, why not turn on the light?”

I think we do this a lot in life – make things harder for ourselves. The core issue seems to be pride.

“I can walk to the bathroom in the dark, who needs a light?”

“I can do a workout plan without knowing my body and capabilities.”

“I can find my pants in the dark.”

Are there things that you’re making too hard for yourself? The next time something is taking a long time (when you know it shouldn’t), ask yourself – Why am I doing it this way? Sometimes just asking ourselves why helps unlock a better way.
