Every year, I try to make it out to the sunrise service at Beachmont Christian Camp. It’s a really awesome camp in Kingsville that offers many things, a day camp in the summer, teen nights in the summer, bible study for teens in the winter/spring, and a myriad of other awesome things. I have been involved with the camp since I was about 5 years old.
I do have a love/hate relationship with the sunrise service though….I hate that it’s cold, it’s early and I’m tired the rest of the day. But I LOVE seeing the sun rise behind the three crosses on the hill, I love seeing so many come out to hear about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and I love seeing old friends I rarely see. I love it even more when I can look back on pictures. If you’re looking for a sunrise service next year, I highly recommend this one.
Here’s a few of the shots I took.
This year they acted out the story of Abraham and Issac.
They even had real lambs as a visual representation of the substitution Christ made for us as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.
Every year, they have a trumpet player play The Old Rugged Cross as they act out Jesus carrying the cross up the hill.

This looks incredible. We went to the Easter Vigil this year because my dad was being baptized and confirmed (we’re Catholic) and it was the first time I’ve been. It is such a solemn service, but a beautiful experience. We start outside at the Easter fire, process in to a dark church, and each person is given a candle. It was really beautiful, but your service looks fantastic!
They always have a really beautiful service. It’s always freezing, but always enjoyable. π
