Day 1935 – The Next Step For Writing My Book
I’ve been researching and reading for a while about how to write a book and things to consider. My most recent task is to read through and do the exercises in Bulletproof Book Proposals. Up until today, I had each chapter listed on my to-do list…and honestly, it wasn’t getting done.
Yesterday, I splurged a little and bought some Post-It Notes (name brand, thank you very much!) Here’s what I came up with! Hopefully crumbling up Post-Its will help move things along!!

Day 1901 – Killing Time
I have a whole day to kill waiting for Bret to get off of work. We’re taking a little trip and it just made sense for me to drop him off. But I’m about 45 minutes from home and have a day of wandering ahead of me.
For now, I’m going to work on my book!

Day 1848 – What Am I Reading Right Now And Why
Reading has been a big part of my life recently. I’ve always loved to read, but to grow my photography business, I started to read more. More on business, on marketing, on photography itself, everything really. I thought you might be interested in what’s in my queue this week.
the dead & the gone – Susan Beth Pfeffer – This is the second in the “series.” I finished this yesterday and was all ready to read the next book I had….but BLAST! I had checked out the 4th, not the 3rd. Ah well. This series is about the moon getting hit by a meteor and what happens afterwards. It has been gripping and believable. Enough that I think about our food levels every time I look in the cabinet. Excellent piece of fiction.
Stephen King On Writing – I’ve talked about writing a book a few times on here, well, I’m finally starting to move forward with that. I have a fiction and a non-fiction idea….and ever since I “allowed” my brain to think about writing, the ideas have been flowing. So it may be more than just the two. 🙂
The Walking Dead Vol. 20 – Because, well, zombies. 🙂 But seriously, the next volume is being shipped to my library now and I like to catch up before the new one. Eeeep!
The 4-Hour Work Week – Timothy Ferriss – This book has been on my radar for a while. I’m not sure why I waited so long to start it. It’s been life changing (you’ve read a few posts about this already) and challenging. It has questioned decisions I’ve made about business and life but it has also confirmed I’m doing a lot right. I HIGHLY recommend this book.
The Writer’s Digest Guide to Science Fiction & Fantasy The fiction book I’m toying with is a science fiction, so this random find at the library is perfect!
Think Big – Ben Carson – Another random find at the library. It’s been encouraging so far! Always cool to hear how someone super successful made it.
The Nighttime Novelist – Random find at the library and I think my best find so far. I read the first 20 pages yesterday and it already has me thinking about my story in a lot of new ways.
What are you reading right now and why?

Day 1847 – My New Reading And Writing Spot!
Last week, Bret and my mom set up a gazebo on the deck! It’s perfect for rainy days, evenings and hot days! I’ve spent many hours out there already. Today I did a little writing! I can’t wait to see what comes of this new spot!
