Day 1198 – What A Day!

So, you know I shot a wedding yesterday. It was a ten hour shooting day. Then another 4-5 hours of downloading after we arrived home. Long, tiring, AWESOME day. Yesterday’s awesomeness made it very hard to get out of bed this morning. So much so that I arrived at the Susan G. Komen run about 25 minutes before race time! I was already freaking out because it wasn’t until I was about to leave that I realized that my number and chip were back at the apartment. So I REALLY needed to meet up with my group so I could run with someone who had a number to get a good read on my time! So I FINALLY find a parking spot at 7:45. I RAN down to meet my group, hitting my head on a tree branch AND almost running into another group that I knew. I just kept praying that I would find someone in my group! Thankfully, I found my friend Marcy as she was walking to the start. Whew! Funny part? She didn’t have her number either! Even funnier? I finished with my fasted 5k time ever….about 35 minutes…and it wasn’t recorded. Ah well. 🙂

I didn’t have my camera this year, so here’s a shot from last year…

I want to also add that my dear, sweet siblings took it upon themselves to run, with their Team Martha shirts on, 3.1 miles in Lake Placid. What an awesome thing to do. I found this out RIGHT before the race, which made me cry. 🙂

Oh, I did get a shot of this year’s shirt!

Day 830 – Another Personal Accomplishment

About two weeks ago, I shared a personal accomplishment. Well, today, I did something else I am VERY proud of! I ran the farthest I have ever run, alone and with out stopping. I feel very ready for the Susan G. Komen 5k on Sunday. I am also going to take this time to share that I plan on running a half marathon next year! I’m nervous but I know I can do it. I went from someone who couldn’t run a mile…no scratch that….a quarter mile!….without stopping and wanting to pass out to running just over 5k in just a little over half an hour. Don’t worry, I won’t post my running times all the time….maybe just a few times a month… 🙂

Day 732 – My Happy Pants

I have a few favorite pieces of clothing. There are things that I wear so much, I’m surprised they haven’t fallen apart yet. (Though, I do have some clothes that are pretty torn up!) My MOST favorite is my “happy pants”…yes, I call them my happy pants. They are super baggy at the bottom and super soft cotton. I’ve had them a few years and I’m really surprised they’re still holding up! I have also picked up a new mostly favorite shirt. I love long sleeve shirts. It’s a little obsession really. The one I’m wearing tonight is one that I got for doing the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. I am so happy in this outfit. The picture does NOT do them justice. Maybe I’ll set up my studio kit sometime and get some real style shots…maybe…
