Today was the last day of Summer Blast, the Vacation Bible School at my church, Sovereign Grace Church.
Here are a few of my favs of the kids having fun!
The first is from crazy hat day. I LOVED crazy hat day! I wore my furry viking hat from Warrior Dash!
This is one of the teams voting for their favorite crazy hat on the team. Lots of great hats on this team!!
There is a time for games every night at Summer Blast. This game was my favorite. Two teams. Dodgeball rules. Three pins on the back end of each team. First team to knock over the other teams pins wins. If a kid gets out, he stands on the side in one of five spots, he moves down with each person who gets out, once the 6th kid is out, the first kid can plan again. Lots of movement and the kids seemed to really like it.
Every night they announce the three rules. The first two are obvious (don’t talk when someone on stage is talking and keep your hands to yourself). But the third rule is different every night. The first night it was, whenever someone says “vegetables” the campers have to sing “I Love Vegetables!” The last night was “Every time you see a squirrel, yell it out, point and freeze” (think the movie UP). It was so neat to see the kids getting so into everything. I think the last rule was my favorite. 🙂
