“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:1-4
Every year, we try to go to the sunrise service at Beachmont Christian Camp. It is truly one of my favorite times of the year. Every year it’s the same routine…
Alarm goes off at 4:30/5 and I think…ahhhh, how many people actually know I’m going and will they truly miss me? I hit the snooze and repeat. I do finally get up and throw on some clothes and down some coffee.
Once I get on the road, there is a magical time driving when most others are asleep.
Arriving at the camp and walking down to the service site, I think, ooo, it’s warmer this year!
The trumpet plays as actors carry the cross to the top of the hill (one of which was my brother!) I always get teary eyed and goosebumped at this point.
I snuggle up and listen to the songs and the message.
Sometime around the middle, I realize one part of my body is not covered as much it could be….then I’m freezing in that one spot.
The service ends, I grab a doughnut and coffee and catch up with friends.
I love this time. At this point, I am SO thankful I dragged my lazy butt out of bed. 🙂
He Has Risen!!
