Day 2455 – I Missed A Big Anniversary….18 Months Of Sobriety

Without much fanfare, zero actually, I reached the 18 month mark of sobriety on Tuesday.

How do you sum up how your life has completely changed since such a change? How do you express how different things have become?

The truth is everything has changed and not much has changed.

I still hang out with my friends and have a great time….any embarrassing things I do are in complete sobriety. I guess I have to blame the fact that I’m just a crazy person.

I still take trips with Bret…if I end up crying my eyes out, it’s because of sheer joy and not alcohol messing with my emotions.

I still wake up with headaches….but only on the days when my allergies are bad.

I don’t sleep in like I used to….no hangovers to sleep off.

I still listen intently….and if I forget something, it’s because I didn’t write it down not because the alcohol erased the memory.

I can still have a margarita thanks to the AMAZING people over at MADD. Nom nom nom.

It is impossible to put in to words the change in my life, so I’ll let someone smarter than me handle it.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

I’m brand new baby!

And to show just how bad things were, I’m going to share all of my drink photos from 2014….and that’s only through the end of September. Oy.
