Last night, we did something pretty darn cool.

Our friends, Matt and Emily, invited us over to their home for movies under the stars! They transformed their backyard into the coolest movie theater I’ve ever been to! Complete with multiple flavors of popcorn, a basket of candy and old school soda bottles!
We watched The Sandlot. What a walk down memory lane! I recently realized that this movie is TWENTY years old. As if I didn’t feel “old” already! Anyways, it definitely holds up! Such a fun movie!
While I was watching it though, I realized it had a really good life lesson in it. Just face your fears.
Think about it (I’m assuming all of my readers have seen the movie…or won’t mind some spoilers…), they lose the ball, they build up The Beast to such a degree that any time he even touches the ball, they scream. I didn’t realize HOW much screaming there was! They try all kinds of crazy things to try and fix this problem. Each idea is more ridiculous than the idea before it. The whole situation finally ends when everything comes crashing down around them. Then The Beast’s owner simply states, well, why didn’t you just knock on the door??
How many times are we in situations where we create a huge headache for ourselves, digging deeper and deeper, working harder and harder…when all we needed to do was “knock on the door?”
So, whatever you’re going through…have you tried “knocking on the door” yet?
