Day 2804 – The Aftermath Of A Snow Day

Oh man, yesterday was a great day! Unfortunately, the plows and sidewalk crews started around 3:30 a.m., so we woke up around 3:45 a.m. I lucked out and got a nap in from about 8-11. The downside of being stuck inside all day….after making a Oreo cheesecake? Well, that would be eating the whole thing. Yes friends, Bret and I ate an entire cheesecake, in one sitting. And today we feel awful. Oy, way too much sugar.

I was able to crank out another section of the road trip book today. Dudes, I’m so excited to share this with you! Stay tuned for sneak peeks over the next few weeks and months.

What about you, did you have a snow day yesterday? Did you spend it well or poorly, like us? Let us know in the comments below!

Day 2803 – It’s A Snow Day AND Pi Day!

I wasn’t putting two and two together, but I bought ingredients for a “pie” for pi day!

Crazy weather out there!

Day 2802 – Road Trips, New Books, And Snowstorms

I just finished my morning writing session on my next book. I’m taking a different approach on this book in that I am planning a whole business to go with it. From a Facebook group, to a newsletter, and who knows what other products. Writing about and helping others follow their dreams (travel or otherwise) is definitely my life passion. I get SO excited giving advice about road trips. I get SO jazzed encouraging others to follow their dreams. I love to get people past the “I could never” to “I did this.” Give me a question about travel or someone taking a trip looking for advice and I will spend my whole morning typing things out. I can’t wait to share my road trip book with y’all! Make sure you’re subscribed to this blog to know when it’s finished!

I am also SO excited about this upcoming snowstorm! We’ve already purchased junk food for our *fingers crossed* day off tomorrow. I was a little disappointed that we weren’t going to get a snow day this year, but hopefully I won’t have to be! I’m planning to work a ton today so tomorrow will be filled with reading, hanging out with Bret, and playing in the snow.

What’s on your snow day agenda? Let me know in the comments below!

Day 2800 – What Jennilyn Forgot

Today I finished reading What Alice Forgot. It was a really well done novel. I loved how the story unfolded and how it was told. If you haven’t heard of it, this woman hits her head and finds out she can’t remember an entire decade of her life. In some ways it was a sad read as she’s in situations thinking “who am I now?” I also just finished Towers Falling, which is about children learning about September 11th. Let’s just say I’ve been thinking a LOT about my past over the last week.

One of my life “theme verses” is Ecclesiastes 5:20 – For he will not much remember the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with joy in his heart. When I have conversations with people I’ve known for a long time and they talk about experiences, I tend to have forgotten them. Even a big breakdown I had a few days back, sobbing, tears streaming breakdown, and it’s a blip in my memory. I love this verse because it perfectly describes my life. I tend to forget the bad and remember the good.

I wonder what my 24 year old self would think of my life now.

We aren’t drinking anymore. My 24 year old self had just gotten a DUI 6 months prior, so I’m guessing she won’t be surprised by this. She’ll probably be surprised to find out she was an alcoholic.

We did get to marry Bret. I know my 24 year old self would be happy about that. My 34 year old self is still pretty pleased. 🙂

She would surely be surprised we aren’t photographing weddings anymore. That was a dream for so long.

We did write a book! That will be happy news.

We don’t have kids, which I’m sure will be surprising.

We don’t have such a negative view of us.

It has been quite an interesting few days. What would be the biggest change your 10 years ago self would be surprised about?

Day 2799 – Fall Back Friday To Almost 2000 Days Ago

We weren’t too excited about Christmas, apparently.
