Day 3481 – Finding A Happy Medium To New Posts….Medium

As I’ve been closing up shop on this blog and Facebook, I realized that I do really love writing about things that I see in this epic world. This blog has been such a great way to write about whatever the heck I want and it has grown and stretched me in ways I never expected. It hit me the other day, there is a way I can still put content out in the world but with a lot less pressure, while holding myself up to a higher standard, and it will mean you don’t have to wait for me to publish new books.

So what’s the happy medium? Well, that would be Medium. It was one of those “someone mentioned it once in a Facebook group, I mentally took note, and filed it away for a rainy day, and it hit me on a rainy day” kind of things. I have created an account on Medium and you can follow along with me in the future.

I make zero promises on when I’ll start posting, haha, the whole reason I’m not creating new posts here is because I’m trying to simplify my life. But I do still want to write on the internet, so go ahead and follow me so you know when I post something new.

Day 3480 – Penguin Appreciation Day – or – The Antarctic Experience

In honor of penguin appreciation day, I wanted to give a shout out to my super awesome client, and her amazing project – The Antarctic Experience. She’s in Antarctica now, and you can catch updates on her Instagram account.

Antarctica is high on my major bucket list, and I can’t wait to finally go. Have you ever been?

Day 3479 – Justin Timberlake Wrote A Really Cool Book

I have to say, I am absolutely loving Justin Timberlake’s book, Hindsight, & All the Things I Can’t See in Front of Me. The design work of each page alone is worth the read, or at the very least, a flip through.

This morning, I came across this quote:

“That’s what I love about my job. I love the spaces that are not about the win but the practice.”

As I’ve been working with Bret to build our business, I’ve had to grow in a number of ways. While it’s exciting to have a closing and get paid, the more exciting part is the growth and change in myself through the process.

I love this idea of “practice.” With my running, it’s about having a practice, not a finish line. With reading, it’s about enjoying the book I’m reading, not about hitting a number read.

What we practice adds up to some incredible things, so what are you practicing today?

Day 3478 – You Never Know How People See You

I was chatting with someone yesterday and they made an observation about me based on my blog posts. What was so surprising was that I see myself the direct opposite way than they were perceiving….and this person knows me better than most.

But I’m super glad they pointed it out because I was obviously blind to it. Haha, yet another reminder that now is the time to quit this blog. 🙂

So I guess the moral of the story is to be careful what you put on the internet…or….be prepared to not come across as you intended. 😀

Day 3477 – A Further Reason I’m Stopping The Blog

I first want to say thanks to y’all that have reached out about my decision to stop blogging.

I think this morning is a great example of why “it’s time.”

I’m working “out of the office” today and have a very short amount of time to do my morning stuff. I sat down to write a post and had no idea what to write about. I feel like I’ve been phoning it in on here for longer than I should have been.

To put work out into the world that you’re not proud of, or just slapped together, just isn’t how I want to live anymore. I’m not sure what will fill my time once blogging and Facebook (oh yea, quitting that too) aren’t in my life, but I have a strong suspicion I’ll start writing again.

So maybe bookmark my Amazon Author page for when I publish my next book, which will hopefully be my alcoholism memoir. I am sorry to leave y’all seemingly so suddenly, but the stars have aligned and the timing is just right.

Again, lemme know what things you want me to blog about in our time left. 🙂
