About 365 days of marriage

I started this blog in April of 2011. At the time, Bret and I were wedding photographers and it was a way to share how marriage is more about the day to day and so much more than the wedding day itself. For about 5 years, I blogged about the joys and sorrows of the Christian walk, marriage, work, family and friends. I’ve blogged every day since a few weeks after I started. In May of 2015, we photographed our last wedding. Now, I have become passionate about simplicity, particularly in marriage, Christianity, business, travel and life. For a number of reasons, we have become minimalists. I’ve found that having simplicity makes life so much deeper, refreshing and joyful. I hope that this blog will help others see the benefits of living simply.

Day 1731 – Behind The Curtain – Ongoing Business Education

One of the things that isn’t as “cool” and “sexy” about running a business is ongoing education. I try to do as much as I can as regularly as I can. Thankfully, there is a great local photographer, Kat Forder, who opens up her studio regularly for photographer meetups and classes. Yesterday, there was a chat about Google Analytics. Our teachers were Shawna Sherrell and Ashley Sullivan. It was a wonderful time! I learned a lot that I didn’t know and can apply right away to my analytics!

After the class, a few of us got dinner at a place across the street! Fun times!

Day 1730 – Relaxing Sunday With My Hubby

I’ve always loved weekends, but since I went full time, every day seems like a weekend and a weekday. Now that Bret is teaching, Saturdays and Sundays are like the weekend again. It’s been wonderful having that time with him. I love that I can still say I love hanging out with my hubby. This is why being married to your best friend is freakin’ awesome.

Day 1727 – What People Are Saying About My Album Reconstruction Business

You may remember the stolen album that I reconstructed about a month ago. Well, the daughter got a thank you note and has graciously (with mom’s permission of course) let me share that note! Here’s the text!

“Dear Tammie,

Thank you so much for the wonderful 30th anniversary gift, our wedding album. The album means so much to me; it brings back so many memories.

You took the time to give us a gift that means the world to me. I am looking forward to the photo session when the weather warms up.

With all my love,
Mom”

If you’re looking for an anniversary gift for your parents, shoot me a message and I’d love to help you out!!
